Laura Hubert         Laura is from Toronto, the Downsview area. She is part-native. She learned singing, acting and sports in three years at Downsview Secondary School. She had a really good music teacher who taught her to read music. She got to go to the Vienna Youth and Music Festival when she was seventeen. Then she went to U of T, but did not get her degree.         After university, she was acting for about three years. She was singing on the side. She had a group called the Laura Hubert Trio for a while. Her musical influences include Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Carla Bonoff, Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Tina Turner and Annie Lennox.         Laura mostly does the vocals. Her voice has a huskiness which is a welcome change from the syrupy drek lots of female vocalists produce. She also played guitar in Book of Rejection.         When you watch the Treeo perform, you tend to watch Laura. She doesn't just sing, she performs. Very expressive onstage, and whenever she tries to look disturbed, she does a frighteningly good job. She has bracelet tatooed on her right wrist.
